knowledge’s colonial encounter

we first identify a gap– an empty, theoretical plane devoid of empirical observation– and then we develop it, scientifically

as researchers we are settlers of uncharted cognitive landscapes…
however, these spaces are very much occupied

despite our urgency to shed awareness,
our fancy terminology will never drown out 500 years of human suffering
it will never better explain this or that

…and it will always fail to account for those of us who are not useful under “capitalist productive relations”
